Does anyone know what it's going to be? Exciting that the property is being redeveloped after so long being closed.

Oooh! Is that the one that used to be a shop selling pots?
Well, there's one cafe being opened (I hear) at the corner of Glenwood and St Ann's where the accountants used to be, and a wine bar on the corner of Salisbury Rd and St Ann's.
Grapevine and loads of nosy neighbours say Andreas Michli’s shop on the corner of Salisbury Road and St Ann’s will be a cafe / deli by day and wine bar in the evening. They are looking for a pianist if anyone is interested ! Apparently the interior looks good and they’ve kept lots of original features.
And the shop next to George’s fish and chips will apparently become a bakery with coffees and tables outside.
So with that and the other new cafe mentioned above this little corner of Harringay will soon be cafétastic.
May the best ones endure !
Well, there’s been lots of speculation about Andreas Michli’s place, and some exterior painting seems to have happened, but the dead plants and some of the pots can stil be seen behind the paper masking the windows, so I wonder if the project’s stalled? No interior renovation looked as though it had happened when I last went past. It could be a prime site, so it’d be good if it was put to use, though I’m a bit sceptical it might end up exactly like all the other Turkish/Kurdish places on Green Lanes.
It was here that James Ingram shared recently that was being developed as an organic shop and wine bar.
Yes, I remember that thread, and the lovely antique shop sign exposed in the refurb, but it doesn’t look as though a lot of work’s gone on since then (May). Hope it does happen; and a cafe on the corner of Glenwood diagonally opposite would be an improvement, too.
It's open!!!
It was with a real sense of excitement that I stepped through the door of no. 33, Salisbury Road on the dot of 4pm today (Thursday) when The Old Grocery Store opened for business at last. This much-anticipated addition to the local scene - our street WhatsApp has been abuzz with excitement for weeks now - is the realisation of a dream long held by friendly owners (and brothers) Emilio and Mario, who within fifteen minutes of opening were greeting a steady stream of customers.
With an eclectic but exquisitely designed interior, this warm and welcoming space is a treat in two parts: one room is a deli / cafe / bar, the other a relaxed lounge for drinking and eating (small plates are currently being served; a full menu is also on its way). The back wall is adorned with classic albums; the sound system is highly impressive; and a piano by the door to the street hints at romantic evenings for two, and maybe the odd singalong, to come…
It all adds up to a very welcome addition to the area, and has the makings of a neighbourhood treasure…
looks like a really good addition to the neighbourhood! Long may it last! Will pay it a visit on the weekend!
Great photos, thanks PaulG, looking forward to trying this out - the bar has been raised
