Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Public sector workers willl be picketing workplaces across the borough tomorrow (Wednesday 30 November) from 7am.

If you want to show support for public services, and public sector workers, then pop by one of the picket lines tomorrow morning, say hello and try to resist the urge to shuffle off straight away because you don't know anyone.

Remember, cuts to public sector pensions will not restore the public services that have already been cut and privatised, nor will they restore cuts already made to private sector pensions. So if you are up for an early start, the main focus will be around the council offices in Wood Green - see this Haringey picket map created by Haringey Alliance for Public Services for confirmed and unconfirmed picket lines. A lot of schools will be closed anyway, although Hornsey School for Girls and Park View Academy are both expected to have picket lines.

It is important to show that the there are people in the local community who understand that this isn't just about defending pensions - important though that is - but about defending pubic services in general. So set your alarm clock for early!

Funny - I don't remember any picket lines or demonstrations when Gordon Brown eviscerated the private pension schemes
