Just to add salt to the wound, there are bridge works at Upper Holloway so the A1 is closed southbound, diversion along Junction Rd west then Tufnell Park Rd east back to the A1 at the Nags Head. The five-way traffic lights at Junction Rd/Tufnell Park Rd are rephased in favour of the diversion.
If you try to go the other way round, by getting to the Nags Head and then driving west along TP Rd you can wait 15 mins to get through the lights to turn onto Junction Rd for Station Rd - well that was my experience today.
And after today, the A1 is closed both ways until Mon 16 Jan. Lovely, especially with no Overground to Upper Holloway either!
That wasn't an option this time but it's certainly worth considering.
I initially drove to Curry's in Tottenham to buy it, as it was listed as in stock but they didn't have it. So then I ordered online from them with 'free overnight delivery', which also didn't happen - it took several days to be shipped. So this is the endgame of rather an annoying saga.
Other courier companies at least make an effort to deliver - I've been taking in parcels all week for neighbours. But Royal Mail have given up any pretence of trying which just seems pure arrogance...
Some of us don't have cars and can't carry heavy packages
Fair enough, but as I tried to explain (as you said you simply didn't understand), not everyone can manage to carry their packages.
