Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Anne Barwick drew our attention to this sign back in October:

As a result of that posting I was in touch with the Council and Cllr. Nilgun Canver. Good news today with the following email from Haringey:

I can confirm that a contractor has been appointed to remove the offending estate agent sign and pole.

I am at present awaiting their response with regard to how best to remove the signage as they have expressed concerns over the size of the pole and how best to tackle this job. I anticipate that details will be finalised this week.

When I have a definite date for the remedial works, I shall update you further.

Good news. But who's paying for it? Paul Simon? I doubt it.
Mmm...but let's be thankful. I'll check though - see if there's any financial penalty - not as punishment but by way of discouraging others.
Wait... which pole in this photo we talking about ?
I count two Paul slumon signs. A large one and a less large.

Ha ha the overflowing and rotting garbage says it all with regard their site maintenance record (eh alan stanton ?). Perfect.
The large.
Teamwork, Anne - stronger together an' all that.
Here's the answer from Haringey Council to the question about who pays:

Paul Simon no longer own the land so any charge replaced on the land as a result of direct action would fall to the current owners.
Lucky Paul Simon. So ever time they do a development, they should just put up the biggest advertising pole possible and don't worry about the consequences, because by the time the council get round to enforcing the failure to get planning permission, they won't charge anyone because PS will have long sold the development on and Haringey don't want to penalise the new owners. If I was PS, I'd be delighted with that answer.
