Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Sultan Demir will be running classes in an ancient Turkish art technique called Ebru  (Water Painting or Marbling in English) at the Old National Hall, new Turkish Community Centre on Hornsey High Street opposite the Three Compasses.

Ebru is a kind of technique where you create a picture/pattern using oil-based colours floating on water for making prints on paper or fabric and is reallly interesting!

Sultan willl be running a four week course from 2 - 4 pm on Saturday afternoons at the centre starting this Saturday, the 16th, and then again in September.  All ages are welcome.

She can only take twelve in a class and the first course was getting pretty booked up.  If you're interested in having a go, please e-mail Sultan : sultan-demirr@hotmail.com

The cost is £5 a session, including materials.

More examples of Ebru here.

Thanks to Jennifer Bell for the heads-up on this.
