I have just got a MacBook, and this is my first experience with Macs. I have only ever used PCs, so have a lot to learn...
Question- What do you all do for online security? I have a Virgin router with a firewall embedded. I spoke to one friend that they did nothing, not even virus protection. So, what do you guys all use and at what cost?

This is misleading.
Firstly I believe this is mistaken about proportionality. Mac viruses do not occur in proportion to the proportion of Macs in total operating systems: they are disproportionately much smaller.
Secondly, whatever few viruses aimed at Macs there are out there are far less destructive than "Windows" viruses.
It is difficult to write an effective virus for Macs because it requires UNIX-level skills and most of this programming élite have better things to do with their time.
However many of the defences against viruses apply equally to all operating systems.
Right. Next question. Office for Mac (@£109) or Pages 09 & Number 09 (Cannot find the cost yet, but exect it will be cheaper).
Oh, and as an Outlook user on my PC, is it worth paying up the extra ton at £209 for Office + Outlook or is the embedded email client on the MacBook work working with?
