Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This male black & white cat called Lila has been reported as lost since 12th August from N4 area. One year old, no collar. Please lookout for him.

Unfortunately he has not been neutered yet and he has not been microchipped.

His owner has put details on Animal Search

Animal Rescue charities like The Scratching Post recommend that it's vital for cats to be neutered and microchipped.

I think this cat has been hanging around for the last 2 days, it's quite a young puss and a bit stressed. We are in warham road.

Thanks for replying. If possible, take a close up photo of the cat's whole face from the front and post the photo on here - that way it's easier to compare face markings as there are a few missing black and white cats.

If the cat is out the front, that's a worry as likely to get injured by a car. The cat may also end up wandering on to Wightman Rd or Green Lanes which will be even more risky. If it's possible in the meantime, perhaps you could get the cat safe inside. I appreciate that it can be tricky! If you have or can borrow a secure cat carrier from a neighbour, any vet will scan a cat for free to see if the cat is microchipped. (The vet will also be able to confirm whether male or female, approximate age and whether neutered yet).

This missing cat Lila is not microchipped and not neutered yet. As you know, things are always more urgent if a cat is outside and not neutered (due to increased risk of injuries and mating which creates more homeless cats). I have also asked the owner which part of N4 their cat went missing from, but have not received a reply yet.

I'm not sure if this is the missing cat. He's still hanging around and seems very hungry. We have a very old grumpy cat who isn't keen on other cats at the best of times. So don't really want it in the house. We have been putting some food down as it's starving. If it isn't the missing cat, then we may try catching it and taking to cats protection to see if they can track the owner down as it's extremely hungry and very stressed.

From what I can see on the photos, it doesn't look like the same cat.

Any vet will scan a cat for free to see if the cat is microchipped and whether neutered yet. (As you know, It's important to get a cat neutered to prevent more homeless cats being born and to prevent injuries). Free Cat Neutering

I've mentioned to Stokey Cats & Dogs as they publicise lost and found pets and there are useful tips on their website.
If the cat is not microchipped and you need additional help, you can contact Ella at Stokey Cats & Dogs as she always tries to help if she can. Email stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com (Stokey also have volunteers (more volunteers are always needed) who provide temporary foster homes for cats until any owner found and they check proof of ownership). If cats are stray or abandoned, Stokey looks for a permanent home.

You can list a lost or found pet on Animal Search and it's free to do that. Close up photos are useful to show markings on whole face and body.

Check if your neighbours know the cat, including neighbours with gardens backing on to yours. It could be a situation where owner on holiday or the cat needs a catflap.

(For any cat owners out there, Animal Rescue charities advise that it is vital that pets are neutered and microchipped. Cats enjoy catflap access to a back garden - and they need catflap access to get back inside their home. They advise locking the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured. Remember not to let them out the front door by mistake. These safety personalised collars are also useful).

I spoke to the owner this morning, she said she had been advised a deceased cat had been found on the corner of Endymion and Green lanes last Sunday morning, the person moved cat out of the road. What is Haringey's policy regarding dead animals?
Ty, I will try to get some info.

How sad. I hope it wasn't the owner's cat. If the council collected and removed the deceased cat, they will have scanned it to see if microchipped. They will also have logged a basic description of the cat's colour and location and date found. Unfortunately there will be no photo to confirm identity. Their tel no is 0208 885 7700.

In the alternative, if a neighbour found the cat, maybe they would have taken the cat to a local vet to be scanned for a microchip and taken a photo of the cat for identity purposes.
