Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This male black cat called Echo has been reported as lost since 20th February from N15 area. Two years old, silver collar. Please lookout for him.

Unfortunately he is not neutered and not microchipped.

His owner has put details on Animal Search

Animal Rescue charities like The Scratching Post recommend that it's vital for cats to be neutered and microchipped. Adult cats enjoy catflap access to a back garden - and cats need a catflap access to get back inside their home. They advise locking the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured.

Update - Echo was found on 18th April

Hi Justine, where about in N15 the cat is missing from? I live in N16, bordering N15 (along Seven Sisters Road/Amhurst Park area) and I saw a young black cat wtih yellow eyes, looking lost, twice on Monday 20 Feb, around 5pm and then again at 7.30pm that night. I tried to approach it, but it scampered and hid each time :-( . I went to look for it again, later that night and the day after, in vain :-(. I am part of a small local volunteer rescue, I feed stray cats in my area, there are not many cats around where I live and had never seen that cat before, it might have been him... I am afraid the black cat I saw (which had a tiny white patch on his chest - it's impossible to see, on the photos, if that missing cat from N15 has one) just ran away further, as I have not seen it after that night :-(

Hi Myriam, thanks for replying. Well done for helping cats. I messaged the owner to ask what road Echo went missing from, but no reply yet. There are a few missing black cats locally and like you say, it's always hard to identify from photos. Some of the missing black cats have small white mark on chest.

I think Echo might have a very tiny white graze mark under mouth. He is described as wearing a silver collar (although there is also a previous entry mentioning a blue pink yellow triangle collar).  If you see the cat again and are able to catch the cat, then great if you can get cat scanned to see if chipped and whether needs neutering and also take close up photo of face and chest. I know it's tricky! It's so cold for a cat to be out there lost.

Hi Justine, thanks for your reply, Not seen any black cat in my area since that Monday 20th Feb. Could not see if that cat was wearing a collar or not, sorry. And yes, I always try and catch possible strays or lost pets to get them scanned. Really bad weather for any living souls, humans or animals, to be out at the moment :-(

Good news - the black cat Echo was found on 18th April. Hope the owner gets him neutered and microchipped, if not done yet.

Animal Rescue charities like The Scratching Post urgently appeal to people to please get cats neutered to prevent more homeless kittens being born, fight injuries, mating injuries and cat colonies.
