Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Looking for volunteer plasterer/builder help to enable an art project in Turnpike Lane

You may be aware of the Sustrans DIY Streets – Turnpike Lane/West Green project that has been going on over the last two years to improve the residential streets behind Turnpike Lane station and slow rat running traffic (lots of background and pictures on the link above).

The project is coming to a close over the next few weeks but it has brought together a number of residents who'd like to keep the momentum going and develop an art project to brighten up the area. One of the suggestions has been to make good and use the old advertising space on the side of the corner shop at Langham Parade, however it's currently in poor condition and would need replastering/rendering before it could be painted with a design.

We're wondering if anyone would be willing to volunteer their time to do these repairs or knows of someone who might. We think we could cover the cost of materials between us, but there's no budget for getting the rendering done so we need a kind hearted soul to help us out!

Initial discussions with the shop owner suggest he'd be really happy for the work to go ahead, but obviously it'd be subject to proper consent being formally agreed.

This is what it looks like at the moment:

and this is a suggestion for what could be done with it:

If you can help us out, please do get in touch.
