looking for a cat or kitten
Hi, I am looking to get a cat or kitten for my sister who lives in the N4 area near Hermitage Road, she has a garden and lots of space. The cat shelters are all closed due to covid and I have filled in the form with wood green cat shelter, but they haven't got back to me. I have read that it's not a good idea to buy through an ad and wonder if anyone knows of a cat looking for a new home or if anyone has other ideas on how to get a cat/kitten?

Thanks for reply. I just had a look at the website, they say there is a waiting list of about 3 years as 1600 people are on the list! Does anyone know of pet shops that sell kittens. Lots on gumtree but not sure who to trust.. Can't believe it is so hard..

There are lots of cats waiting for adoption, we adopted two kittens at Mayhew rescue centre.

Do not buy from a pet shop or gumtree this is now illegal - please have a read of Lucy’s law.
The law came into effect in April 2020, with licensed commercial traders no longer allowed to sell kittens or puppies as pets if they were less than six months old and they had not been bred by the seller.

I second Stokey Cats and Dogs. I got one of my cats from them and also fostered for them a few times. They rescue a lot of stray cats (often in bad states) and care for them, raising money for vet bills through a network of fantastic volunteers.

many thanks Anton. I have been in touch and hopefully will be successful in homing Chilli.
Can anyone recommend a handyman for fitting a cat flap? We need two as there are two doors leading to the garden and one with glass panes is a little bit awkward. I have somebody we normally use who is very good but he is very busy at the moment.
