Not a secret but new to me. Get on the Picadilly line at Manor House, read a book, and an hour later, get off and take a 10 minute walk.

well i live near san francisco so i'll have to put that off for now.  although manys the time i walked from manor house to our flat at 5a grand parade just to save the bus fare - what was it 3d?

Ah, well you might know Macondray Lane in Russian Hill. Not a very well kept secret but I was over the moon when I accidentally came across it and realised it was the model for Barbary Lane. Sadly I didn't spot Mrs Madrigal.
