Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Anyone see this, it's a French drama, or maybe not on bbc2 catch up I think. filmed in our hood. Lots of familiar places including Harran resteraunt. I'm not sure it exists even now.

Maybe everyone else is already clued up.

Yes its well worth a watch, directed by an Algerian/ French director Rachid Bouchareb and starring the wonderful Brenda Blethyn and a lovely Malian/Burkinabe actor Sotigue Kouyate, who died shortly after the film for which he won an award at the Berlin Film Festival.

Centred around the time of the 2005 bombing in London and featuring Harringay Station and environs; with the protagonist staying at the Shelton Hotel (!!!), and also Blackstock Road. With so many local streets name checked it was a case of 'spot the location' while keeping up with the plot.

I have heard about this, (in fact I walked right into them filming on Wightman back in 2010. I haven't seen it  though. So thank you for flagging it.

Is that how old it is. I thought it was great apart from a couple of odd bits, and she was amazing. Brilliant. It looked like they made themselves at home round our patch
It's a lovely film and fascinating to watch as a local. At one point Brenda Blethyn crosses Harringay railway bridge directly into Finsbury Park
