Local residents “discover” Vietnamese restaurant

We've been asked to post the following by Joyce Rosser on behalf of the Hornsey N8 Group:

There has been a restaurant called Phong Hai on Priory Road (near junction with Nightingale Lane) for some time. Suddenly local residents have discovered it. It all started with an email on the Warner Estate Residents Association (WERA) Yahoo group on 26th March from a Warner Road resident recommending it. Since then there has been a flurry of favourable email reports as people have tried the restaurant (see below)

Just had a meal at the Phong Hai Vietnamese restaurant in Priory Road, just before junction with Middle lane. Excellent food, good value and friendly staff.
Recommend all Wera folk to give it a go. Ivor

I tried it last night and also recommend it. £30 for a meal for two with several beers. The service was delightful and the food was really good. I have been to Vietnam a fair bit on business and this restaurant food is tasty and 'authentic'. John

We had takeaway last night £24.00 for two. So much yummy food-we had leftovers for lunch today as well. Would recommend. Lovely friendly people as well. Steve and Celia

We also went this weekend. Really good, good value, really good service and lovely people. It seems business is quite slow for them at the moment so the more that go the better.
