Unlike some people, I'm not an HOL 'junkie' and make no apology for that. You? A floating floater? Yeah, right!

For the record, I would encourage everyone to vote Conservative. In local authorities where the Conservatives have been in power for donkeys’ years, I would encourage people to ask themselves these two questions:

1. Does your council offer good services at value-for-money?

2. Do you think, in the interests of democracy, another party should be given a chance if your answer to Q1. is 'no'?

I'm actually considering giving up posting on here. Why? Because I think practically everyone is left-wing and are willing the swallow the opinions of people like Cllr. Alan Stanton hook, line and sinker. You may talk amongst yourselves.
Brilliant that's a royal flush for us then Justin. Up till this point the Conservative party was the only one we were still lacking an accusation of political bias from. And that just didn't do. So we thank you for completing the set.
:0)
why don't you hold a members' poll?
Just what you need for a career in politics - a tough skin and staying power in the face of adversity.
They didn't lose any money in Iceland. They have the same number of vacant properties as Haringey. They don't have high streets blighted by gambling dens. Perhaps they should just do a straight swap with our council a la Trading Places.
Agree Michael. I've lived under long periods of both Conservative and Labour governments and during their ends they both looked tired out. I'm sure that any party can be in power for too long.

The idealism, freshness and goodwill of the early days eventually gives way to cosy cliques and careerism, back-biting and short-termism when the reins of power have been held for years on end.

The goal eventually becomes little more than trying to hold on to power.

In the same way that prison warders shouldn't become to familiar with prisoners, at the national level, it is good to have changes at the top which tends to reduce the degree of politicisation of the Civil Service.

.
Totally agree, Clive.
perhaps you Cllr. Stanton, should sing to her:

Oh Carol , I Am But a Fool
Darling I Love Though You Treat Me Cruel
You Hurt Me And You Make Me Cry
But If You Leave Me I Will Surely Die

Darling There Will Never Be Another
'Cause I Love You So
Don't Ever Leave Me
Say You'll Never Go
I Will Always Want You For My Sweet Heart
No Matter What You Do
Oh Carol I'm Still In Love With You

Oh Carol I Am But a Fool
Darling I Love You
Though You Treat Me Cruel
You Hurt Me And You Make Me Cry
But If You Leave Me I Will Surely Die

Darling There Will Never Be Another
'Cause I Love You So
Don't Ever Leave Me
Say You'll Never Go

I Will Always Want You For My Sweet Heart
No Matter What You Do

Oh Carol I'm Still In Love With You
I always preferred Chuck Berry. Though not one of his best.
this is a good one, too (-D
@ Justin
You may have " delivered Harringay this week " - from what ? To whom ?
I was confirming to OAE that I have never received any leaflets or other matter from the Conservatives or Labour in the 12 years I have lived on Wightman Road ( north end specifically )
I can't - and don't - believe this. Sorry. You probably scooped them up with the pizza leaflets and recycled them.
