Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just wanted to get some local nursery recommendations from Harringay onliners, had a little search here, but couldn't see any recent postings.

We live in Stanhope Gardens and are looking for a local nursery for 4 days per week starting in March next year, when our son Leo will be 13 months old. So if you are currently using a local nursery it would be great to get your thoughts or if you know local child minders that you could recommend that would be really useful too.

That's the other side of Hornsey station. The other side of Harringay station is the Stroud Green library.
Worth a look at other posting on childcare and local nurseries. Link through via our tag listing page.

Both my children, now 7yrs and 4 yrs, have been to Woodland Park Children's Centre. Which is really excellent, but I know places are very limited and in demand. And they changed their rules to not allow new children to have 4 days, you have to take 5 days or 3 days. I think this was because they couldn't always fill Fridays. Due to massive cuts costs of day care are increasing in September, but I think it's still very competitive and great value for money.

Both my children were really well looked after and learnt a lot. The transition to School was very easy for my son, and he has gone to after school club at Woodlands.

I would recommend it very highly.

I agree about Little Jewels. My son goes there and is very happy. Most nurseries are really hard to get into as there is a real shortage of places around here (also many don't take children below 3 anyway). So it's worth putting the name down soon with Little Jewels (and any others). There have also been a couple of recommendations for childminders on this site, so worth doing a search as this may also be a good option for such a small child.

Our two children attend the Triangle on St Ann's Road, which is a Haringey-run nursery like Woodland's Park. We live in the Gardens and it is a 15 minute walk from our house (our friend in Stanhope Gardens attends as well). Our daughter is now 3 and has been at the nursery since she was about 10 months. Our son joined earlier this month at the age of 11 months. We attend for 3 days per week and have recently been asked (when our son joined) to move to a Mon-Weds pattern rather than Tues-Thurs. This suited us, so no complaints. I don't know what the arrangements are for new joiners, but I have seen signs offering nursery tours. We have always been very happy with the nursery and the staff are great. The administration could be improved, but I can live with that if my children enjoy their time there, which they do. Prices are extremely reasonable (compared to many of the local private nurseries which we also viewed), although the fees are increasing from September there too.

Thanks for all the posts.

On a similar note can anyone recommend any childminders locally?
