Little change in Haringey Cabinet reshuffle

Haringey cabinet 2011/12:

Leader – Cllr Claire Kober

Deputy leader and cabinet member for children – Cllr Lorna Reith

Housing – Cllr John Bevan

Environment – Cllr Nilgun Canver

Health and adult services – Cllr Dilek Dogus

Finance and carbon reduction – Cllr Joe Goldberg

Economic development and social inclusion – Cllr Alan Strickland

Communities – Cllr Bernice Vanier

Cllr Claire Kober has appointed former backbencher Cllr Alan Strickland to replace Cllr Toni Mallett to oversee planning and regeneration.The portfolio for his new role, now called ‘economic development and social inclusion’, also includes responsibility for culture and the Olympics, parks and recreation services. [note: this has been moved from cllr Dogus' portfolio] 

Responsibilities in other portfolios were changed slightly, along with their titles - Cllr Kober rebranded the finance and sustainability role as ‘finance and carbon reduction’; ‘adults and community services’ has become ‘health and adult services’; ‘neighbourhoods’ is now ‘environment’ and ‘community safety and cohesion’ becomes ‘communities’.
