Life’s A Riot with Haringey Shed

Working alongside their team of theatre professionals, the Youth Theatre has devised the show themselves. The Youth Theatre is made up of local young people between the ages of 11-16 years who live in Tottenham.  They were there on 8^th August 2011 - in Tottenham on the day the riots started.  The events impacted massively on us all.  Especially them - they are young and impressionable and they were there. The story line is inspired by the young people’s real experiences on the day and how it has affected them.

Haringey Shed is an inclusive performing arts company that gives all young people in Haringey, regardless of ability or background, the opportunity to develop performing arts skills in a professional theatrical environment. Our ethos is geared towards integrating young people from varied backgrounds, with different behavioural attitudes and a range of physical and learning abilities. We aim to help young people to help themselves by increasing their confidence and learning new skills through theatre training. We have a Children’s Theatre for ages 7-10, Youth Theatre for ages 11-16, Mini Music for ages 2-5, Shed Band for ages 9-17, Big Noise Choir for ages 7-15 and a Youth Forum.
