Learn a new skill during Adult Learners' Week

Language lessons, technology tips and business-boosting classes are among the free taster workshops on offer as part of a week of events to celebrate lifelong learning.

The Adult Learners’ Week classes will run from Saturday 14 June until Friday 20 June as part of the council’s commitment to support residents in search of new skills.

The national scheme runs across the UK to show that it’s never too late to learn and that it is vital for the economy to make sure residents have the skills they need to succeed.

Among the sessions are French, Spanish and Mandarin lessons, tips on marketing small businesses, and a range of computer software and Internet classes.

Along with one-off sessions, the council has a full programme of low-cost adult learning throughout the year, timed throughout the day and week to give residents the best opportunities to get involved.
