Nearly two weeks on now since the big water mains burst on Green Lanes, households near the top of Umfreville Road are still experiencing low water pressure problems yet Thames Water have not notified those households direct about the problem and how long more they will have to endure this inconvenience.
I live on Umfreville Road and my pressure is so low that my boiler broke this morning. I cannot top up the boiler pressure to start it up again because there isn't enough water pressure to do so!
I have been on to Thames Water since last Thursday to find out when the pressure problem will be resolved. Finally, I was told this morning that we will be put back onto the fixed water mains overnight tonight with water pressure returning to normal on Umfreville Road hopefully by Thursday morning.
So, let's hope our showers, washing machines and boilers can function properly again from Thursday morning. In the meantime if you have been affected by the low water pressure in the area, I would strongly recommend calling Thames Water on 0800 316 9800, select 1, then 2 and ask for a Claims Form to be sent to you. I've received £30 already because the engineer booked to come to my home yesterday morning between 8am and 1pm didn't bother to turn up, so it is well worth making a claim for any inconvenience.
I understand this was a big job for Thames Water to fix, everyone is doing their best to fix it as quickly as possible and that these things do take time. But what has frustrated me the most about all this is the complete lack of communication by Thames Water to keep affected customers informed. It is totally unacceptable. Thank goodness for HoL!
Good luck with your compensation claims

Other recent comments here. At the other end of Umfreville, pressure was OK this morning and for the past week, but is lower (though still unproblematic) at 2000 today.
Thanks Gordon (have added a more concise note to that discussion). Yes, you're lucky because not being on the hill you have a bit more pressure even in peak times (so I've been told). Apparently Umfreville Road is the last to be reconnected to the fixed water mains on Green Lanes, hence the ELEVEN days of disruption!
