Ladies Only Tennis Tuesdays

At 9 quid a pop Haringey women are invited to enjoy a new way of playing tennis this summer with the launch of Tennis Tuesdays. The new initiative from the Lawn Tennis Association and Nike aims to tackle the gender gap in sports participation, offering exclusive pop-up female only tennis events across the capital.

From Tuesday 17^th June venues across London – including Haringey will provide female-only Tuesday evening tennis. These sessions will offer informal coaching, weekly themed sessions and fun match play.

Recent analysis of Sport England’s Active People 8 Q2 Survey by the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation (WSFF) found that the gap between men and women participating in sport has widened considerably since this time last year with over 1.9 million fewer women aged 16+ than men taking part in sport once a week. 

Over 19 weeks, Tennis Tuesdays hop to inspire women to play more often by offering fun, social tennis sessions as an alternative to their regular workout.
