Kids Techcamp, Summer 2012

I  stumbled across Tech Camp on the web earlier in the week and thought there may be some parents who might be interested.  

Tech Camp is designed for children between 10 and 13 years of age (usually just finishing years 5-8 in the academic year before the summer holidays). The organisers say they aim to "capture the excitement of all children whatever their abilities or interests; not just those who may be gifted in science and technology".  

In 2011 the organisers also began to cater for older children with the launch of Tech Camp Xtreme.  

At each camp, there a number of concurrent courses, organised by an "academic"; usually a scientist, engineer or teacher. Each 5-day camp has several different courses running concurrently based around a particular theme. The children (and parents) can choose which camp they attend.

The standard tech camp runs in August in Bershire and will include sessions on Laser Tag, Forensics, Crazy Contraptions, Roaring Rocketry. There is an "Aeronautics" camp offering rocket or remote control plane design courses for the 13+ age range.
