K.dot: Film exploring the Impact of the Kasey Gordon Stabbing

A youth focussed creative media consultancy has produced a film with a group of young people from Park View Academy who witnessed the fatal stabbing of their close friend Kasey Gordon outside the school two years ago.

15-year-old Kasey Gordon was killed just outside of the school by a mentally ill man in full view of his friends on January 20 last year. It has left a lasting mark on those that witnessed the attack. The K.Dot project was set up earlier this year in an attempt to soften the impact. .

Maxine Dyer, Social Emotional Behavioural Disorder coordinator at Park View School, said: “Close friends of Kasey remained stuck – traumatised and struggling to find a way of moving forward. They suffered a severe lack of motivation, increasingly cutting themselves off from their peers."

The K.Dot project used film, reminiscence and music to explore the impact of Kasey’s death on his friends. As well as helping Kasey’s friends to document their experiences, K.Dot is a tribute to a talented young basketball player who died tragically.

On the 21st January at 6pm Individio Ltd and Park View School will launch their K.Dot project at the West Green Learning Resource Centre at Park View School.
