Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Snapped this little fella just now. Every time I open a window of late, I seem to get one of them in the house. Are they just being scared off by Alison's foxes over the way a bit or are are they a Harringay plague this year?

Assume it's a cricket and not a locust! Lovely photo.
my garden's full of them, lovely things and the allotments up at Turnpike Lane are singing thanks to all the little green critters
One was having a stroll around my kitchen ceiling last week. Had a bit of a web search and it seems to be a Great Green Cricket. Although they do eat some plant life, they're very keen on grubs and small insects so probably good news for the garden.
I have seen a lot of crickets too. Apparently the recent weather has meant there is a bumper crop of wasps this year so maybe it's the same with these guys
It's also been a good year for other insects. A couple of ones in the garden this year that I've never spotted before and was moved to go and look up. One particularly notable visitor was a hornet-mimic hoverfly (Volucella Zonaria) and a rather large dragonfly that whizzed past at such a speed I couldn't identify it any further. Lots of damselflies too.
