THE TOM TAYLOR QUINTET
Having originally started life as a trio, this quintet plays original music with a strong emphasis on improvisation. All the musicians met at music college and have been playing together, in various guises, for many years. This exact line-up, however, is only a relatively recent formation. As a trio the rhythm section have enjoyed performance highlights including a Radio 3 broadcast for Jazz Line-up. For this gig they will be performing a suite of music written by Tom Taylor based on the novel Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie.

The band showcases original music by Andy written specifically for this line up. Lyrical jazz with folk and country influences drawing inspiration form Bill Frisell, Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh.
