Jazz at the Salisbury returns after our summer break with an excellent band this sunday night.
The Tom Millar quartet return to the Salisbury, performing material from their upcoming debut album, supported by Jazz Services funding and an Emerging Excellence Award from the Musicians' Benevolent Fund. Formed at the beginning of 2011, while the four were studying on the Royal Academy of Music jazz course, expect to hear an exciting, soulful and intuitive band sound, with Tom's compositions characterised by strong, catchy melodies, intricate rhythmic grooves, creative use of elements of free playing, and unusual song forms.
