Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anyone know if there is a similar site in Islington as I find this SO useful but my son hasn't found anything there other than the Council site ?

Hi Jacky, I don't think there is anything like HoL in Islington. Actually there are remarkably few across London and the UK.

There was a time I thought I'd see sites like this bloom all over. It sort of happened locally. After HoL, I helped set up the Bowes and Bounds site and then three other local sites patterned on HoL were started by other people.

My mailbox over the past years has included an amazing collection of people from North America to New Zealand who have wanted advice on starting up a site like HoL in their neck of the woods. I also helped start sites directly in other parts of the UK, but I think the complexity of making them work meant that the thousands of flowers have not bloomed as I thought they might.

So right on cue, it's time to thank you Hugh for all your good work.. Yes, we've had our ups and downs, but I love the connection to my old stomping ground.

Not forgetting Liz's hard work too and any others who also get involved.

Season's Greetings from me.. und ein frohes Fest !

I'd like to add my thanks too, and Happy Christmas  to everyone.

It's not jus their hard work. They're both very clever and astute people who have worked well together. God know's what they'd be worth to some organisation with lots of money that were crap at PR.

Harringay, not bad for a Ward of 8,000 people, HoL has over 30,000 followers!
about how many people who rely on St Ann's Hospital.

Yeah Hackney! kinda dealt with the Islington boundary area, but is currently on agistment.
