Probably not the cat. More like an open window. But don't squish it otherwise you risk sending its eggs flying in all directions. You have to remove the head. Or just pick it up and post it to Jakarta.

The eggs thing is an urban myth. Roaches lay egg sacs containing tons of individual eggs which is why they end up infesting places. Annette, use a roach spray all around the edges of the kitchen, especially the kick boards.
