Yes, the Friends are there doing conservation work. See the events page for times when gates will definitely be open.

Just to add, the Friends of Railway Fields conservation sessions usually take place on the last Saturday of the month, which means the gates are open from 10.00am until about 3.00pm. You can see all this year's dates on the Friends' website.

Visitors welcome - whether you'd like to get stuck in to some conservation work, or just have a stroll and enjoy the space. For anyone who works 9-5 in the week it is a rare opportunity to come and see what's behind those gates...

For our July event (on 28th) we will open up from 12.00 as we're having a special Butterflies and Bees Day with lots of free activities for kids and grown ups.
