iphone 4 is no longer supported so doesn't need or get software updates. This has not been a problem so far. Recently going on the Guardian website I am told 'you need a more recent browser to comment or respond'. Not really a problem, but does anyone know if this is the beginning of the end for my phone, and should I consider getting a more recent model? Not seeing any way to update my browser as Safari says I have the most recent, but then it would say that as my phone is no longer supported....

Ah, the relentless march of technology. I have the same issue as you Philip, though I possibly do a little less commenting on the Grauniad's articles...
Not lately. I have been permanently removed from the Guardian and have so far tried in vain to find a reason, including contacting the Readers' Editor twice. I believe it is due to the nature of my posts and am looking at how much further I can take it.
Blimey. You must have ruffled feathers if you have been censored on the Guardian
Have you tried installing Chrome from the app store and using that? It's free and it works with iOS 7, and will probably work with the Guardian website.
Yes have done that , and yes going via Chrome works. However my phone is getting to be a pain, have to press home key really hard etc so considering buying iphone 5 which goes for about £150 refurbished on ebay or even Moto G on Android.....any thoughts???
I've got a 16GB Moto G which I really like, and it has got to be about the best value smartphone you can get. I also think Android is a much more coherent operating system than iOS, but I'm still taking my partners iPhone 5 when she gets an upgrade in August though. And that's even with a white screen surround. There's just something really satisfying about holding the actual phone, and I'm shallow like that. I'll still reserve the right to go back to my Motorola if I get frustrated with it though.
Both are good, so I'm not a lot of help really, but if you're used to iOS and like iPhones then probably go for the iPhone 5.
