Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

International Women's day, an event that has been celebrated since the early part of the 20th century will take place this Sunday 8th March.

One of the themes of this year is "Women and men united to end violence against women and girls" and as part of that campaign One Ten are asking people to pledge support for an online campaign by users of My Space, Twitter and Facebook on Friday 6th March.

There is a rally organised to mark International Women's Day, Million Women Rise, on Saturday 7th. The march starts at 12pm in Portman Square W1 and finishes in Waterloo Place at 2.30pm with a rally.
Donations: Million Women Rise, c/o Vivienne Hayes, Women's Resource Centre, 33-41 Dallington Street, London EC1V OBB. Cheques should be made payable to MILLION WOMEN RISE.

Closer to home, the College of North East London is hosting a special day on March 14th and there will be a showing of Mama Mia at West Green Learning Centre on Friday 6th March, 50% of money raised to be donated to Women's Aid.

I'm really looking forward to the march. This year it's going right through central London - Oxford Street, Regent Street etc., so will be seen by many more people than before. My photos of last year's are here:
Nice set of photos from this year's event here
