I thought others might be as amazed as I was at just how much technology there is inside the tiny cards that most of us have inside our cameras. Who'd a thunk.

Arthur C Clarke's third law comes to mind - certainly that's my old mum's reaction when I wave the postage-stamp size card at her and say "there's two thousand photos on that".

'Moores law' (Gordon Moore co-founder of Intel) calculated in 1965 that computing power will double every two years. It's accepted that this is still the case.
