Injury in Kitchen Fire at Chicken Max

A restaurant owner was trapped by a fire in the kitchen of a Chicken Max on Green Lanes between Falkland Road and Fairfax road on Tuesday.

The restauranteur was injured trying to put out the fire and then jumped through the flames as he escaped. He was later taken to hospital suffering from burns.

Several fire appliances attended the scene and successfully put out the fire before too much damage was done.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
