I know him, he's an Australian! Do we really allow foreigners to represent us? My we're a wonderful society here in Britain.

Er...maybe I'm being a bit obtuse, and I don't know the gentleman, but he lives in the area, he is subject to the same local laws as other residents--what's the problem with him being Australian?

In my experience, most of the hard workers for the good of the people of Haringey seem to come from abroad, while the Brits are down the pub complaining about how these foreigners come over here, take over our civic responsibilities...steal our social obligations...

One of the most dedicated warriors for preserving the facilities and heritage of Alexandra Park--who has spent months of his life battling for its preservation--is from New Zealand, for instance.

By the way, I note that your name is "McMullan". Is that Irish or Scottish? Just interested.
