Thank you Hugh for getting back to Gareth and myself regarding our concerns. As you say, a valuable lesson for all.
can we have an update on the official police statement when it's released please? As a house of early 20's girls living on Pemberton road, we regularly walk up here fairly late from the bus stop, often on our own, so news such as this is more than slightly alarming!
Catherine, i agree with you, i am also in my early 20's and use Pemberton Road to get to my home on Wightman Road and usually quite late, this is all very scary!!!
Catherine, I agree with you too.

For my part I will post any further official news as soon as I get it. I have asked our local beat bobby for further info. At this stage I have no official line to the police. I'll do my best.
Thank you for the information about this, how very shocking, the poor woman.
Hi to everyone,

just for your information I live in Pemberton Road and police are coming round to ask if anyone has heard anything between 4:30 and 5:30 am yesterday night. I have asked what happened and they would tell only that there was an incident.
No word from the police yet. I've just checked with Cllr Canver and she has no more news either.
How soon do you think it will be before official news is released on this matter? i hope they catch whoever is responsible for this.
Cllr. Canver said that she hoped she'd have more tomorrow. I keep checking the local papers as well (via HoL Newswire - top right) and they don't seem to have anything yet either.
I was wondering if there had been any more news on this anyone? I am out of the country and a little bit worried about having left the missus at home...
I have nothing Chris. Others might. As soon as I hear I'll let people know.
I have just received the following from our local Safer Neighbourhoods (Police) team:

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious sexual assault in N4.

Between about 0440 and 0530 hours on Saturday 21 November a woman in her 30's was walking along Pemberton Road N4 when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her and sexually assaulted her in the street. He then stole her belongings, including her bag, cash and mobile phone before walking off in the direction of Wightman Road. The suspect is described as black, aged about 25 years-old, average build, about 5ft 6" tall.

The incident is being investigated by the Met's Sapphire Unit.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Rob Dawson of the Met's Sapphire Unit at Havering on 01708 779 685 or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

DC Rob Dawson said: "Although this assault took place in the early hours of the morning, someone may have seen or heard something that could prove invaluable to our investigation. We are doing everything that we can to identify the person responsible."

The attached safety information was included.
