Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Anyone else feel a little bit surprised or indeed offended that these days suppliers of construction site workwear feel it is ok to advertise metal ladders with a bikini'd woman draped across it? See the large billboard on Wightman Rd just down from Jewsons.

sex sells!! ;-)

reminds me of a feminist piece on advertising i read years ago. The ad featured a car with the slogan:

'If this car were a woman, you'd pinch her bottom.'

Under it was scrawled:
'If this car were a woman, she'd kick you in the b*****ks.'
It goes both ways, Diet Coke ads are equally as "offensive", if you find all that offensive that is.

Sex sells still and I'm off for a bag of concrete and some step ladders up Jewsons.

For me I think it's all pretty tacky.
Worth considering for this hoarding as the offending advertisers are Direct Boot and Embroidery of the appropriately named Freezy Water, Enfield.
I'm a woman, and I really don't care. If some men are sad and simple enough to buy a stupid ladder because they think they'll get a free woman with it then go on....
