Identity theft

Just a warning that we received 2 different credit card application letters over the weekend, in my husbands name, neither of which he has applied for.  Thankfully both companies were alert, and writing to tell us they were unable to process the application due to inconsistencies with the application form, but it's rather worrying.  On Saturday as I pulled up outside my house, I saw a guy halfway up the path, heading towards the front door.  When I called out he turned back down and passed me, without looking or answering my question "what do you want".  At that point I hadn't opened the post so was unaware of what he was probably looking for.  We, rather stupidly, have a letterbox attached to the outside of the house, next to the front door, which we are now going to change to a more secure one, but just wanted to warn folks to watch out and be alert.
