Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm thinking of having a party next year. It'll be for around 40-60 people, and I'd like to host it locally. Preferably around N15, N17, or the ladder. It would be quite simple - just some food (either whole meals, or a buffet) and drinks. The Beehive comes to mind for me first as I go there often, but I'm interested in hearing from other people that have had good experiences in local venues - be it pub, community hall, restaurant etc. Let me know your ideas!

In particular, let me know, if you know:

1. What the hiring fee was for what time period?

2. If there was a minimum drinks/food spend?

3. If you were able to get in outside caterers (and who?)

Thanks :)

Someone I know locally asked me this last year. I suggested the warehouse district. They have a double decker bus with a marquee and an open area. It's pretty funky. He loved it. I can give you a contact if you're interested. You could also ask New River Studios if they hire out their bar area.

I like the sound of both those suggestions. Is the double decker bus the one on the Seven Sisters/Eade Road junction? I've seen events organised there that look good, particularly the celidhs, but they've never been on dates I've been able to make. The contact would be good, I'll drop you a conenct request. I'll also drop into the New River cafe to have a chat with them. Thanks!

Yes that's the bus.

I've sent you contacts for both venues. They both know each other well and both may be able to answer about either, but worth checking in with the two of them.

Thanks. Appreciated.

Hi Hugh,

Please can you share those contact details with me too. I've got a party to plan this year too.

Thanks

No advice but will follow with interest (am interested in what you find out)!

Is your 21st coming up?

Langham club, Salisbury, Three Compasses, Old Dairy (Brownswood and West Reservoir further afield) are all possibles at the moment.....anyone hired rooms there? Good? Bad? Other?

I've used the Langham, they often hire for parties. A nice large concert room with stage and dance floor.

Talk to Bob Mead there to see what the rate would be.

Thanks. Any idea how large it is/how many people there?

If you go online to this programme, fast forward about 45 mins in and the Langham club is featured with Frank Skinner. You'll get a good idea of the concert room size from this.

How about the Hub? Lovely venue and building. Reasonable rates and all the money is reinvested in the community.
