Think I just heard the whistle on the return trip, at 21.29.

I'm in a quandary - is Sir Nigel Gresley a she ?
Puzzled me too, John. With Nigel's flying skirts there's at least some crossdressing involved.
According to the Sir Nigel Gresley Preservation Society she is indeed.

Look in the photosets. The restoration was done there.
Once again my Sunday afternoon reading has been disturbed by someone called Sir Nigel Grisly shunting past my backyard fence. All this modern technology is getting me down. A little dynamite on this elevated track may preserve my peace from next week's repetition. Ned Ludd.
Shame on you ! Have you no soul ?

Complete peasants aren't they? You'd think there'd be a bit of respect. Fortunately Claire Kober et al have done their best to ensure that Hornsey does not partake in the expansion of Britain's rail system. At least we'll have a concrete factory to contribute to the expanded building programme in the CoL.

Am I in trouble for using latin in my post?
