Thanks for posting this link Liz. Satan'sBusy has some shelves to which his elves are believed to refer (internally) as the Shit Bin and sometimes there are genuine savings to be had there.

As with much else at Satan'sBusy, you need to check the item for a price label. And even then, I think its best to ignore the "previous price". It's possible the item did sell at the higher price – for five minutes. And on HoL I reported reported a while back that some four-packs of tuna had a dramatic price reduction (the From and To) ... except I knew they'd actually been sold earlier, significantly cheaper than the supposed discount price, anyway. I'm sure the chief Elf regards it as a game!

Much of the stuff on the discount shelves has no price on it and it's just tossed in there, so there's no certainty you'll get a discount at the till.

I bought a huge salmon from Waitrose for Christmas dinner.  It wasn't until we got it home that we realised they had weighed it incorrectly and we'd only paid 37p for it.  We weren't about to lug it back to the supermarket on Christmas Eve and demand they re-weigh it!
