Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Tickets for the official Evening Celebration at Alexandra Palace to welcome the Olympic Flame to Haringey, will be released on Saturday 26 May at 10am. There may be a big demand for the 4,000 tickets and they will be released on a first come first served basis, with a limit of six tickets per household. Find out more about the event on Haringey Council's Olympic web pages.

There are three ways to get tickets:

Online through the Olympics page of Haringey's website, where on 26 May at 10am the link will go live to Ticketmaster who are administering ticketing. Tickets are free but there will be a small postage charge for each ticket.

In person (must be aged 18+) from Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, Philip Lane, N15 4JA after 10am on Saturday 26 May. You should go prepared with proof of age where necessary, and a current utility bill or bank statement with your postcode on it - and be prepared to queue.

By telephoning the Ticketmaster General booking Line: 0844 844 0444.

There are also limited spaces on two disabled viewing platforms for those wanting to watch the celebration but these must be booked in advance (first come first served) from Ticketmaster Specialist Sales: 0844 847 165

Please note: The Evening Celebration begins before the Olympic Torch arrives in the borough, so those wishing to see the torch in Haringey will need to decide whether they wish to watch it along the route or apply for tickets to this Evening Celebration.

"Tickets are free but there will be a small postage charge for each ticket"

Last time I bought tickets from them the small charge was seven pounds a ticket.  Each.  How do they do it?

Hope some of you got tickets for this. I tried from my mobile (No link to Ticketmaster was showing. I've just got home and the link was showing on my laptop so wonder if it was just a mobile version problem) and for quarter of an hour by phone without success.

I tried from my MacBook at 10.15am. The link was hard to find on the Council site, but eventually I found it and once at Ticketmaster had no problem getting tickets. 80 pence per ticket admin/delivery fee, so the max cost for the max tickets (6 per household) would be £4.80.

The link wasn't a problem. It's on this post. As I said, things worked fine when I got home my laptop when I got home, but here's a screenshot I took on my phone at 11.00. This was after refreshing and clearing my cache:

I'm not surprised.

(That's why I was on the case at 10:00 on the dot, but clearly something wasn't working with mobile or phone  ).

Thanks Hugh - Ticketmaster was 3 further links on from (both) the links in the original post, but when I navigated from there it seemed there were plenty of tickets left at 10.15am.

I wonder if they sold out so quickly because everyone took 6 - I suppose that is the downside of a nominal charge! Might they ever appear on ebay.....
