How affordable is rent in Haringey?
An investigation by the BBC has found that people spend more than one third of their disposable income on rent in large parts of England. The BBC's data unit analysed average rents and the median weekly wage for every local authority.

In Haringey the median annual gross salary is £29,983, leaving £1,963 a month after tax and National Insurance contributions. Experts recommend spending no more than 30% of this on housing, which would be £589.
An average studio flat costs £872 a month.
Renting a room in a shared property costs on average £624 a month.
A one-bedroom property costs about £1,222 a month while a two-bedroom home is about £1,555. "

Isn't the real question "how affordable are rents" full stop. I think Haringey is pretty mid table isn't it? For being reasonably central with good transport links, I think it offers better value than many areas. If I had my way I'd bring back rent caps.

I think the question you're asking there is how affordable are London rents? Haringey is well towards the top compared to most of the UK.

I agree wholehearedly with the rent caps. Deregulation of the housing market has proved a bonanza for landlords but a disaster for those needing to rent. It is time the Rent Tribunal was brought back unless we just want London to be a town for the rich.

I think that is what the power that be want - that's why there is so little social housing being built, why people are being offered housing outside London, and why the benefits cap was brought in. It's why there is no regulation over new tower blocks being sold to absentee owners overseas.
