Hello All,
This is my first post on Harringay Online as my wife and I moved to the Ladder in October of 2014. I wish my first post was done under better circumstances, but unfortunately, whilst we were away for the holidays, our flat was burgled. We aren't sure of the exact incident date/time, as we are still abroad and our sister-in-law discovered the intrusion on the 2nd of Jan after visiting our flat to water our plants.
The burglars went right for our bedroom and nicked my wife's macbook and other things. But the most upsetting things taken were her family heirlooms. A mid-size green wooden box housed 5-6 generations of engagement rings and other meaningful jewelry from my wife's mum, grandmother, etc...
My wife's grandmother had a hand-written note with all of the jewelry that was in the box: http://i.imgur.com/LJE6kKj.jpg
From this letter, the descriptions for the jewelry inside the green box mentioned above are as follows:
Obviously the likelihood of this getting returned is low, but I figured it was worth a shot.
Thank you everyone and please do be secure and vigilant.
Sean K
So sorry to hear this Sean. As you say, worth a shot to post the list - I really hope you find them and that the damage to the rest of your flat and possessions isn't too bad.
Thank you Alison.
Damage to the flat seems to be minimal. And it seems the only things that were taken were jewelry and my wife's Macbook. The burglars seemed to be quite "professional": in-and-out and go right for the small things.
@harringayonline may be worth Sean speaking to the local pawn shops/cash for gold places? What a shame :(

Thank you for tweeting!
Thanks Tina. Good idea! I'll do that tomorrow!
How awful. Hope you get some of it back. https://t.co/7BvYqaJIy2
