Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Hornsey School for Girls
We have been allocated a place at this school (it was none of our preferences)
My daughter doesn't want to go either.
Can anyone share feedback about the school? Especially regarding how they support SEN children?

We were very disappointed with Hornsey School For Girls. Their support of my daughter's anxiety was excellent, but her teaching, we felt, was well below par. I know it's an issue up and down the country currently, but the school has a massive issue with teacher retention. It felt like our daughter had a different teacher in every subject, every year. They only seemed to stay a year before moving on. This is usually an issue with management. They also decided not to support A-levels when my daughter joined, which was an unpleasant surprise.

Yes, it's an issue with the senior leadership team unfortunately and until that changes new teachers will keep coming in and then leaving within a year. Leads to a lot of instability and very inconsistent teaching. This year the school is not offering GCSE French due to low numbers so that's something to bear in mind if any prospective parents have a child who is interested in languages.

Maybe ask for a visit Natasha. What other people say can be hard to work with unless they know the school and know your child.
My girls like it and are proud of their school.
Teacher retention is across the board / all schools. Its hard to afford the local rents / housing costs, or deal with the commute from Enfield and beyond

We did view and my daughter didn't like the school.
She isn't attending, as she is not willing to, and it seems that they cannot meet her needs.
