Does it depend, perhaps, on stores/shops having space for social distancing and separate entrance and exit?

Here's which businesses can stay open and which must close.

The businesses that are allowed to stay open are:

• Food retailers, including food markets, supermarkets, convenience stores and corner shops
• Off licenses and licensed shops selling alcohol (including breweries)
• Pharmacies (including non-dispensing pharmacies) and chemists
• Newsagents
• Hardware stores
• Building merchants, and building services
• Petrol stations
• Car repair and MOT services
• Bicycle shops
• Taxi or vehicle hire businesses
• Banks, building societies, credit unions, short term loan providers, savings clubs, cash points, currency exchanges and money transfer shops
• Post offices
• Funeral directors
• Laundrettes and dry cleaners
• Dental services, opticians, audiology services, chiropody, chiropractors, osteopaths and other
  medical or health services, including services relating to mental health
• Veterinary surgeons and pet shops
• Agricultural supplies shop
• Storage and distribution facilities, including delivery drop off or collection points

The source that mist clearly presented this info after a quick search was The Sun newspaper.

It looks like the focus of what's being closed is spaces where people congregate for more than making a purchase (which is why I assume that outdoor markets are to close - perhaps considered as social spaces as well as retail ones?)

Although they can stay open if selling food - that means the (often rather crowded) farmers market at Campsbourne will probably be OK.
This is all going to be much harder to interpret and to police than the March lockdown...
