About 10 mins ago we had a new member join, ROSE C GRAND. There were a few things that raised my suspicions. A bit of detective work turned up this posting from someone of the same name:

And the Hotel information will be sent to you immediately.

A few years ago, someone tried to join the website of the Stroud Green Residents Association. There was nothing in their message which referenced anything local. Since they had an unusual name, purely as a little exercise, I searched for it in Google. It turned out that the gentleman lived in Tennessee and had a really, really strong interest in UFOs.

My standard reply to spam emails is to email them back (would not advise this) and tell them to telephone me. I supply them with a premium top (0909 ) charge sex 'chatline' telephone number and invite them to 'call me any time' so i can supply them with all my bank details.
