don't know why, but it's back to the bad old days on hewitt tonight with traffic backed all the way back up and cars turning right :-(

There's a power loss on various roads on the Ladder. Maybe some digging and blocking the roads elsewhere?

Have just spoken to the police officers at the top of Hewitt Road. Wightman Road is closed from Hewitt northbound and all the traffic is being diverted down Hewitt.

This is due to a gas leak, apparently around Seymour Rd (it's smellable at the top of Hewitt). I don't know whether the power outage is related or coincidental.

The officer thought it would be "quite a while" before the road was reopened.
