Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I have emailed the council and local councillors to find out when the works are meant to begin as I can't see any sign of works starting. Anyone have any news on this?

Erm, reinstatement of speed hump it says here (hope they've got the profile and siting right, given all the kerfuffle last year.....).:

Yes, pretty sure it's the right place. The previous hump was removed because it was badly built and kept on breaking oil sumps.

Whilst there was limited sympathy for the speeders affected in this way, it meant that the road was often coated in oil. That caused one local to be badly injured after coming off her bike as a result of an oil slick and another pedestrian to be injured slipping and falling.

Whether we need the hump to be reinstated is another question alltogether.

5 residents, and a cyclist slipped on one of these monthly oil slicks, I thought the genius was just removing the hump.
Low surface bricks on Cranley Gardens, appear as speed humps without the speed hump impact on housing foundations, plaster, and mysterious moving doilies.

I've had an idea of an industrial strength bubble wrap similar to a product like Schluter matting, used in areas where there is movement with tiling, this would be a foundation for the hump, dissipating the force of vehicles impacting on humps, which cause so much hell.

It's only a basis to stimulate thought, any friends at Imperial college? they haven't responded, but there is research in Sweden on something similar.

Another style, used by Islington on Tollington Park Road going towards Stroud Green, is a sinusoidal cross-section rather than the sharp-edged pillow construction of the Ladder roads humps.

It still flexes the vehicle suspension but you don't get the impact vibration of the vehicle tyres hitting the leading edge of the pillow, which is the cause of the building-unfriendly (and nerves-unfriendly) vibration.

Also I think it uses a lot less asphalt to achieve the desired result.

That much knowledge deserves a hug.
Anyone received a parking fine on the parking restrictions?
Parking restrictions from 23-45 both sides on the 8th of May, marking on rd outside 38, don't know if x marks the spot for works.
And still no work done today. I have had no reply from the local councillors or head of parking on this. Another poorly planned roadworks project and no communication from the council at all. Very annoying indeed.
Now the speed hump is back evidence of severe road grazing apparent again
