Help the Big Green Bookshop with their decision making

One of the things that we intended to set up last year was a bookshop committee. The idea of this was that you (our customers) would be able to help us make more informative decisions about what happened in the shop and the direction it took.
The initial meeting of this group was frankly overwhelming. Many people came along to offer help, but the meeting seemed to focus on how the committee should be set up and run, rather than what it should be aiming to achieve.
We had a couple of meetings last year after this and some small but significant decisions were made. However, we never really managed to set up a robust system to allow for regular meetings and this is something we really want to do.
So…
On Saturday May 12th at 10.00am we are having a meeting in the shop for people who want to help us make decisions about what the Big Green Bookshop should be doing in the future. It is not a committee or a board or a council. It is Group.


This Group will consist of 8-10 people (not including us), who are prepared to spend an hour or so each month helping us to make sound decisions about various aspects of the shop.
There will be an agenda which we’ll send out to everyone who asks for one, with topics that we’ll be covering at the first meeting. If there is something you think we should talk about, please let us know.
If you don’t want to be part of this group, but you want to help us out, that’s brilliant too. A lot of the things that we do would be impossible without the incredible help that we have from our customers and we’ll still need that help. Be it flyering, helping us with school visits, helping us build our garden (more news very very soon), or any number of other things we ask, we’d be lost without you.
