I am having problems with my central heating thermostat. My boiler works fine and I have hot water. I just can't get the heating to switch on because I think the main connection is broken. Does anyone know who replaces them and how much they cost to replace? I would appreciate some recommendations. Even though it's almost May I need the heating at the moment!

If it's simply a matter of replacing the unit any handyman should be able to do it. If it turns out to be something else, you may need a more skilled person to do a bit of diagnosis. Personally, I'd get in touch with a heating engineer.
I had a similar problem once which was down to a faulty zone valve. You'll need a proper engineer to diagnose the problem correctly, as Hugh said. Lisa of Milo Heating was my saviour in this case 07811444564.

Thanks for telling me about Lisa. She came out and managed to put the box back on the wall properly so it's now working again! And she didn't charge me a penny. She was great. I would have no hesitation using her again. Good to find someone like her who's professional and not out to fleece customers
