Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Harringay's open space ... is now called Fairlands ... but we need your help ......!!

Last summer the children at North and South Harringay Schools held a competition/elections to rename the open space between Falkland & Fairfax Rds on 'the ladder'. They decided on 'Fairlands'.

The name Fairlands is not up for a changing (as the children of the area have made their choice) so please respect this.

What we now need to decide is whether it should be known as a 'park', or a 'green', or indeed an 'open space'. Let us know what you think here.

Thank you

1- Fairland Park

2- Fairland Green

3- Fairland Open Space

No, I meant if the space were named other than the children's choice it would show them that the voice of the people amounts to very little and would instill cynicism and apathy. My contribution to the discussion is that their choice of name should be respected to avoid that :-)
Fairland Park sounds great.
All sounds great to me.

(Just wondering if it's big enough to be called a park?)
I always wondered that too Hugh so was a little surprised that 'park' was an option but it has all been through the legal dept. So size really does not matter you'll be glad to hear.
DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE WOMAN WHO THOUGHT SIZE DID NOT MATTER ?

her wallpaper fell off
I think the title should credit it's creator - howsabout "Von Braun's Green" (sorry!)
how about 'revenge bomb valley'
could have a nice plaque like this one.
ok karen - 'revenge bomb park'
Thank you all.

'Park' comes out as the favourite. I'll pass this on to the 'working group' next week.

Other forums discussing this also favour 'park'.
